Things To Do With Teenagers in West Cornwall

If you’re looking for activities to entertain your teenagers during a holiday in the South West, look no further! We’ve compiled a list of just some of our favourite things to do with teenagers in West Cornwall. All are great fun and within easy reach of Atlantic Coast Holiday Park in Hayle.

Coast 2 Coast Karting

Coast 2 Coast Karting is the perfect place to visit for families with children aged eight and above. Teenagers can enjoy themselves as they race each other around the track. Older teenagers (16+) can channel their inner F1 driver as they race on X2 Tuned HONDA GX160 engines, whilst younger children aged 8-12 can participate in the Junior driver’s club where they’ll receive personal attention and karting skills tutoring.

For adults who don’t wish to participate, there is plenty of seating nearby so that you can watch the fun from a distance. There is also a café on-site which serves a variety of refreshments and quick bites to eat.

Cornwall Swimming Horses

If you’re looking for a unique and unusual experience to enjoy with your teenagers whilst on holiday, we highly recommend booking a session with Cornwall Swimming Horses. Cornwall Swimming Horses offers a one-of-a-kind experience which is equally exciting as it therapeutic. This experience involves going riding on the beach with a herd of well-trained horses, before entering the ocean where you can experience the thrill of riding a horse whilst it swims in deep waters. This activity is so much fun for both the rider and the horse and is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the magic of Cornwall.

Truro 10 Pin Bowling Centre

A day out to the Truro Bowl is an excellent way to make the most of a rainy day with your teenagers! This bowling centre is conveniently located in the centre of Truro, making it a brilliant way to end the day after visiting this bustling little Cornish city.

Truro Bowl has plenty of special offers throughout the week, so it is always worth checking their website before visiting.  This bowling centre also has a fantastic gaming alley which teenagers will love, as well as an excellent restaurant and bar where you can pick up a tasty drink or snack after you play.

 St. Ives Surf School

We highly recommend that everyone should take advantage of the beautiful beaches during a holiday in Cornwall. One excellent way of doing this is by participating in a surf, paddleboarding, coasteering or kayaking class with your teenagers at the St. Ives Surf School.

The friendly team working at St. Ives Surf School are all fully lifeguard trained and extremely passionate about surfing – meaning that they are sure to get you riding the waves in no time at all! For families who are already well-versed in surfing, St. Ives Surf School hire out wetsuits, softboards, hardboards and bodyboards.

Mount Hawke Skate Park

If you have teenagers in your family who love skateboarding, then they’ll love the Mount Hawke Skatepark. Originally built in 1986, Mount Hawke Skatepark is a staple of the skateboarding community as it recently earned the title of being the South West’s largest indoor skatepark. Here your teenagers will be able to explore the massive skateboarding course including a street course, rhythm section, the plaza course, the vert ramp, the mini ramp, multiple massive skate bowls as well as an outdoor ‘pump track’ course for BMX bikes. There is also a fantastic café on site where you can pick up a variety of handmade meals such as stone-baked pizza, paninis, nachos, quesadillas, waffles and so much more!
