Situated 3 miles from Atlantic Coast Holiday Park and 5 miles from St Ives, Hayle is in a perfect location close to beaches and transport links, shops, cafes and amenities, yet full of the character of a unique Cornish town, which is worthy of exploration in itself.
Hayle stretches along the estuary and has its’ own RSPB reserve where bird watchers can enjoy vast flocks of wetland birds feeding and sheltering in the warmer climate of the most south westerly estuary in Britain. The South West Coast Path meanders through here, past the beautiful tidal pools
and wildlife rich marshes and there are plenty of cafes to rest and enjoy being a spectator of the natural coming and goings at this busy bird reserve.
Hayle marks the end of Portkidney Sands, a vast expanse of golden sand backed by dunes and separated from Carbis Bay by Cliffs and rock-pools. The sheltered water here makes it attractive to sea-lovers for swimming, kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding, but the beach is almost always quiet as it is only accessible via local footpaths. On the other side of the estuary, Hayle marks the start of the three mile beach, stretching fom Mexico Towans to Godrevy Lighthouse
There are endless choices for people and dogs who like walking in Hayle. But it is also the perfect location for cycling, surfing, fishing and all sorts of outdoor activities which the beautiful location and mild climate invite visitors to pursue. There’s even an open air swimming pool, fascinating Paradise Park with its’ birds, animals and indoor play, go karting, a Heritage Centre and one of the best pasty
shops in Cornwall.
There’s also a vast array of independent shops as well as supermarkets and a train which runs to St Ives on a breathtakingly beautiful route from the station at St Erth just outside of Hayle. This enables visitors to St Ives to park and ride and sit back and watch the beauty of Hayle Estuary and the beaches below to unfold before they arrive for a day of activities in St Ives.
